Having established IronmongeryDirect as the leading authority on mental health in the trades over the previous few years, our challenge in 2024 was to make a bigger impact than ever before.
Tying in with the ‘movement’ theme of this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week, we organized the UK’s first ever inter-trade football tournament to raise money for the charity Mind, and hosted it at Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge stadium. Around 50 tradespeople participated, including industry influencers, and these were split into teams representing each of the most common trades. Over £4,000 was fundraised. The event coincided with the launch of IronmongeryDirect’s fourth annual Mental Health in the Trades report, which found that four in five tradespeople experience some form of mental health problem due to work.

The team at Jaywing have been instrumental in the success of our Mental Health campaign, Match for the Mind. Their dedication, creativity, and unwavering support have significantly raised the profile of mental health issues within the trades, helping to foster a community of compassion and understanding. We couldn’t have done it without them.
Thank you for the incredible charity match at Stamford Bridge with IronmongeryDirect & the Mind Charity. Jaywing’s energy and organization made the day unforgettable for everyone involved, and it was fantastic to see the influencers, players and organisers enjoying themselves for such a meaningful cause.
