Jaywing and Google unveil what’s really next for marketing leaders

Jaywing

On 8th July in Manchester we brought together senior marketers, trusted partners, and a room full of smart thinking for something we call More than Marketing - and it really was.

No sales pitches. No endless slide decks. Just open, honest conversations about what’s actually happening in marketing right now and where we go next.

The day included a series of roundtables, a panel discussion, and a headline session with our partners at Google, all designed to tackle the big questions:

  • How do you prioritise when budgets are tight?
  • What does AI mean in practice - not just in theory?
  • And how do you structure teams and tech in a way that really delivers?

Here’s a look at what went down and what you can take away from it.

Google’s big reveal: What’s coming next

One of the most talked-about moments of the day came from our keynote session with Google.

We got an inside look at some of the latest innovations from Google Cloud, including live demos of Digital Twins (simulations that help you model real-world journeys) and Veo 3, a new generative video tool that’s set to make content production faster, cheaper, and more flexible.

This wasn’t future-gazing. These tools already exist, and thanks to our partnership with Google Cloud, we’re helping brands access them at a much more affordable price point than you might think.

Budget pressures, smart choices: Inside the panel discussion

Another standout moment was our panel: “How to prioritise budgets – why you can’t be good at everything.”

Hosted by Becca Tredget, Strategy Partner at Jaywing, the panel featured:

  • Paul Tinsley, CMO at Furniture and Choice
  • Paul Downer, Commercial Director at Travel Republic / Netflights
  • Jonny Sycamore, Client Partner at Jaywing

This wasn’t a theoretical debate; it was a refreshingly real conversation about what it takes to make tough calls. Where to invest. What to pause. How to balance long-term brand building with short-term results. And how data helps cut through the noise.

The big themes we explored

Across the day, the same questions kept coming up; because they’re the ones that matter:

  • How do you make every pound work harder?
  • What does ‘real’ customer understanding look like now — and how do you get it?
  • Where does AI add value, and where do you still need human judgement?
  • How do you build a team and a tech stack that actually works together?

There was no one-size-fits-all answer. But what made the day special was the willingness to share what’s working and what’s not.

Why we do this

At Jaywing, we’ve spent 25 years helping brands use data, creativity, and technology to grow. But tools are only half the story. The real value comes from connection; between teams, between ideas, and between people willing to challenge the way things are done.

That’s what More than Marketing is all about.

And if you couldn’t be there in the room, we’d love you to be part of it now.
