Reporting to the Managing Director (FMCG), the Business Development Director’s objective is to generate GP growth within the FMCG services vertical (primarily: food and beverages, consumer goods, automotive, education, technology, telecoms). This will be achieved by maximising close rates and growing/nurturing a prospect network whilst continually improving opportunity qualification and pitch/proposal delivery.
The Business Development Director will generate their own prospects, along with engaging and nurturing inbound leads and those generated by Jaywing’s lead generation team. The Business Development Director will qualify these prospects in or out of the pitch/proposal process in collaboration with the MD and maximise close rate by applying consultative selling techniques. It is expected that the Business Development Director will also generate additional opportunities from their own network by connecting with and nurturing prospects that fit the profile of our target market.
The Business Development Director will also assist with client onboarding, ensuring there is a smooth and seamless handover to the Client Services team.
The Business Development Director will help create and implement the sales strategy for the FMCG division, and work in collaboration with Jaywing’s marketing department to create content and marketing activities to support that strategy.
Key to this role is the ability to co-ordinate internal Jaywing stakeholders from across multiple specialist teams to manage their contributions to pitches and proposals whilst maintaining the shape of the story and deliver against the brief. This will involve co-ordinating collaboration sessions, managing collaborative working documents and maintaining oversight of the overall direction of the approach to ensure it meets the brief.
