The Role

The Paid Media Strategy Lead will drive the integrated Paid Media product offering for the agency covering all areas of Paid Search, Affiliates & Marketplaces, Paid Social and Programmatic Display, whilst developing and evolving into new tactics as the space evolves. This role sits within the Middle Leadership Team (MLT) across the business so is a senior role and as a part of the MLT, you will be exposed to agency planning, commercial planning and team culture initiatives to ensure you have full transparency to succeed in your role.

With overall responsibility for the agency’s joined up approach to Paid Media, you will collaborate successfully with key senior stakeholders to ensure a holistic, seamless, and future-facing strategic approach for all our clients. You’ll ensure that the agency is at the cutting edge of paid media, powered by data-centric, critical and solutions-focussed thinking whilst leading the integration of the area in line with data science approaches, attribution and econometrics modelling.

You will also be responsible for developing our partnerships with key media partners, technology providers and our Google Premier Partnership, plus Microsoft and other leading market providers.


Key Accountabilities 

To best advise clients on their usage of digital paid media, meeting campaign and commercial objectives. Deliver holistic paid media strategies that drive growth and ROI for clients.


  • Drive innovation and the development of the paid media offering
  • Identify future industry trends and developments, ensuring that this information feeds through into the proposition to clients
  • Identify trends within paid media and harness these for the benefit of our client
  • Devise paid digital media strategies alongside internal teams and overseeing the delivery of these strategies across all clients, whilst playing a key role in leading the strategies for our Tier 1 clients
  • Delivering sales pitches and leading these within the team to ensure team involvement, learning and progression


  • Build and advise clients on paid digital media strategy
  • Support day-to-day campaign operations, ensuring clients receive a high level of service
  • Collaborate with the Paid Media team to deliver campaigns to schedule and on or above targets set
  • Work with existing agency teams and accounts to drive agency growth via their usage of digital paid media


  • Provide strong mentorship and inspiration for your team and clients
  • Implement improved processes to ensure continual evolution of strategy across the team
  • Work with the team to help them progress in their role, whilst being involved in PDPs and regular informal reviews to ensure you’re able to lead with transparency
  • Ensure you are available, approachable and always approach the team with empathy
  • Celebrating successes and individuals within the team at all times
  • Ability to deliver constructive feedback to achieve positive outcomes and a motivation to improve

  • You will have already forged a successful career in Paid Media & digital, whether agency, client or media owner
  • Agency side experience is advantageous
  • You will have experience in running projects and campaigns to budget, and managing the delivery of strategy with key team members,
  • Knowledge and experience of offline media would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of measurement and attribution would be advantageous
  • You will be familiar with wider performance channels to support integrated sales opportunities and powering Paid strategies within the context of the channel mix to drive true clarity of the role of the Paid channels. Channels include:
    • Organic Search & Organic Social
    • Content Strategy
    • UX and CRO
